United Way of Cayuga County held its Third Annual Day of Caring last week.
Executive Director Kathryn Dennis says the event was truly about serving the entire county.
“We had projects located in Fairhaven all the way down to Poplar Ridge,” Dennis told Finger Lakes News Radio,” so over 200 people were able to experience and see the incredible work of our county nonprofits.”
Volunteers put in an estimated 65 hours of work helping nonprofits with 16 projects to better serve the community.
Dennis adds the group is already preparing for next year’s community service event which will take place August 1st.
Coinciding with the Day of Caring was the kickoff to the group’s personal care drive. The drive runs until October 10. A list of participating locations can be found on United Way’s website.
