The City of Auburn is seeking your help on how to best distribute grant funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Auburn residents can now provide input on the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) five-year consolidated plan and the annual action plan for program year 2025-2026 during the public comment period.

Speaking on FLX Morning with Ted Baker, City Clerk Chuck Mason said projects funded through the CDBG program are some of the most visible in the community.

“The skate park is a great example. Five years ago people were coming and saying ‘We need an upgrade to that skate park.’ After a couple of years of attending public meetings, we were able to get the plan in place and get that skate park built… These are the projects that we need to hear from the community about so they can be included in the CDBG funding.”

Comments will be accepted on the consolidated plan through February 7. Copies of the draft plan can be obtained by contacting the Office of Planning and Economic Development at 315-253-3513 or [email protected]. Information on how to submit comments can be found here.

Additionally, the city will hold a presentation and public hearing on the draft plan on February 6 at 5:00p at City Hall.
