Cayuga Community College will remain an accredited institution.
The college has announced that the Middle States Commission on Higher Education has formally reaffirmed its accreditation through the 2032-33 academic year.
“We’re proud of this reaffirmation of accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. We’ve worked diligently over the past three years as part of this process, and it represents outstanding effort by our entire staff and faculty. It’s a tremendous reflection on our institution, our teamwork, and the quality of education and services we provide the community,” said CCC President Dr Brian Durant.
Middle States conducts its reaccreditation process every eight years to ensure members are in compliance with its Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation. Comprised of over 500 higher education institutions, Middle States ensures the educational quality of its members to the public.
Through the reaccreditation process, a team of administrators and educators conducted an evaluation of the college. The review also includes a self-study analysis of the college from its mission to its operation and students’ experiences. The review consists of interviews with students, staff, and faculty. Evaluators also visit the college’s partners, such as high schools that participate in its concurrent enrollment programs.
CCC’s next evaluation is expected to take place during the 2032-33 academic year.
