A new initiative from Cayuga Community College will make it easier to earn an associate’s degree in one year.

According to the college, its newly announced Early College Pathways initiative creates a roadmap for high school students outlining how to earn credits while in high school to quickly earn their degree once at CCC. The program was developed over the past two years.

“Building our Early College Pathways and connecting students to degree and career possibilities have been long-standing strategic priorities at Cayuga, and I’m proud to see them come to fruition,” said Cayuga President Dr. Brian Durant. “These are designed to help high school students and their families understand the best route forward to a college degree and a well-paying career. We’re excited to partner with our local school districts on this new initiative.”

The initiative currently offers pathways for the following eight programs: Electrical Technology, Human Services, Law and Public Safety, Mechanical Technology, Nursing, Psychology, and Studio Design & Art.

An Early College Pathwas Scholarship has also been developed. It will offer annual awards to students based on the college credits they earned in high school through CCC’s concurrent enrollment programs.
