The Cayuga Waterfront Festival returns this weekend to Harris Park.
A celebration of the Village of Cayuga, the 16th annual event begins at 8:00a and features a youth fishing tournament, a coed softball tournament, and arts and crafts vendors.
Music will be provided from Perform 4 Purpose, Jim VanArsdale and the Healers, and Town Hall Heist.
Fireworks will cap off the event at 9:30p.
Speaking with Finger Lakes New Radio, Mayor Don Wilson said that the local support and sense of community is what truly makes the festival so special for the village.
“The cool thing about the Cayuga Waterfront Festival is how everything is local, local kids playing in a band, local vendors, local art, local breweries, local wineries. Even the lead singer for the headlining band is a Cayuga kid,” said Wilson.
Members from the Downtown Revitalization Initiative will be at the festival to answer any questions people may have about the DRI funding being shared by Cayuga, Union Springs, and Aurora. Attendees can also share their opinions on what projects should be funded.
