Cayuga County villages held elections on Tuesday. Below are the results we have received from the individual villages.
Aurora
Running unopposed, JD Balloni received 49 votes and Janet Murphy received 47 votes in their campaigns for village trustees.
Cayuga
There were two village trustee positions to be elected for two-year terms. With no names appearing on the ballot, each candidate was a write-in. Shane Ellis and Rob Vivenzio won with 18 and 16 votes respectively. Chelsea Alnutt received 6 votes; Patty Hanford received three votes; Joan Rusinko, David Braham, and Jon Peterson each received two votes, and Val Wheeler received one vote.
Fair Haven
Brian DiBernardo beat incumbent Mayor James Basile 155-140. There were also two trustee positions to be elected with each candidate running unopposed; Walter Krehling and Judith Dunaway each received 248 votes.
Port Byron
Joanne Bell was elected judge with 39 votes. Mary Jump and Jeff Girven were elected village trustees, receiving 26 and 24 votes respectively.
Union Springs
There were two trustee positions to be elected in Union Springs. Running unopposed, Brian Cornell and Donna O’Hara will remain village trustees for another two years. Each received 19 votes with their being one write-in.
Weedsport
In Weedsport, each candidate ran unopposed. Chad Platten was elected mayor; Geoffery Fritsch was elected justice, and John Clark and Francis Gross Jr were elected village trustees. Each position comes with a four-year term.
