As we inch toward a new school year, the Booker T Washington Center in Auburn is making it easier for families to get necessary school supplies.
BTW will hold a free backpack and supply giveaway for students on August 14 at its community center on Chapman Ave. The event will run from 4:00-6:00p and is only intended for students in the Auburn Enlarged City School District.
Due to supply and demand, a limit will be imposed per family, and the center will be unable to hold backpacks for anyone. BTW anticipates a long line and urges attendees to plan accordingly for weather conditions.
There will also be free haircuts from Nate’s Barber Shop and Upstate’s Finest Barbershop and vision screenings, and eye care kits provided by Walmart Vision Center, as well as other community vendors and services.
No registration is required for the school supplies.
