Bidding is underway at the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce’s annual auction.
Originally an in-person event, this is the fourth year the event has been done online as opposed to at the annual chamber dinner. Executive Director Amy Fuller told Finger Lakes News Radio that, while the switch was originally made due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, people enjoy the multiday online rendition better.
“It works out better. People love it. They like the discretion of it, the easiness of it. Once the auction closes then the Snowball platform says ‘Amy Fuller you won the firepit you owe $400.’ You pay right through the platform and we get the notification that it’s paid.”
Fuller added that money raised from the auction goes to support chamber programming throughout the year.
Bidding is open now until Friday at noon and is open to the public. While anyone can bid, Fuller added that prizes need to be picked up at the chamber’s offices at 2 State Street in Auburn.
