One of the most disturbing murder cases tied to Cayuga County is the focus of an upcoming interview on Finger Lakes News Radio.
True-crime author Susan Ashline will discuss her new book, Ungrateful Bastard, which details the crimes of Gordon “Woody” Mower — including the 1996 murder of his parents and his later attempted escape from Auburn Correctional Facility.
Ashline, an Emmy-nominated journalist, spent years researching the case. In the interview, she explains how the story came to her, what she learned about Mower’s background, and why the case still resonates decades later.
The interview will air on WGVA 106.3 FM 1240 AM Friday at 6 p.m. after CBS and local news, with a rebroadcast Sunday morning at 8.
