How will the closure of Wells College affect the Aurora Farmers Market?
Wells’ announcement that it would close at the end of the semester left uncertainty as to where the market would set up for its 2024 run; however, a plan has been made.
When the market opens for its ninth season on May 25, it will do so at its usual spot, the Wells College Boathouse lawn. The market announced in a Facebook post that it will stay at the boathouse lawn for six weeks through June 29.
The farmers market’s management team expressed its gratitude to Wells College Vice Presidents Susan Henking & Robert Cree, and Associate Vice President Karey Pine for their assistance in allowing the market to use the space for the first six markets.
After the June 29 market, it will move to a yet-to-be-determined site in the village for its remaining dates.
The market is open from 10:00a-2:00p on Saturdays from May 25-October 5.
