When will downtown Auburn’s newest sculptures installed?
Jesse Kline with the Auburn Downtown Business Improvement District told Finger Lakes News Radio an official unveiling for two public art installations has been scheduled for June 14 at 6:00p.
The first work, titled Sky Woman, will be located at the corner of Lincoln and William Streets by the city’s parking garage. Kline described the piece as a bronze woman with outstretched arms holding a gyroscope of moving colored rings.

The second piece will be located at the corner of Genesee and South Streets. This untitled sculpture is from Unite Two Design and will feature two stainless steel hands holding a star.

Foundation work for both installations was done last year.

Funding for the projects comes from the DRI’s public arts project which was selected for funding through the City of Auburn’s $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant. Their installation will mark the conclusion of the project. Other works funded through the project include the Harriet Tubman bicycle sculpture at Freedom Park and the murals at State Street and Auburn Public Theater.
