Auburn City Council will vote tomorrow Thursday on whether or not to award a Rochester-based nonproft a contract to help facilitate community dialogue.
Back in November, the city sent out a request for proposals to facilitate community dialogue to “enhance and inform continual improvement of law enforcement practices.” Four firms submitted proposals, including Auburn-based Gwen Inc, with the Rochester-based Center for Governmental Research receiving the top score based on the city’s scoring criteria.
Council will vote Thursday to award CGR $35,000 to conduct its three-phase plan to enhance communication between the Auburn Police Department and the public.
The November decision to send out the request came after several incidents in the city involving police officers and members of the city’s black community.
