The Auburn Enlarged City School District is undergoing leadership restructuring after Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Kelly Garback resigned to take a position in a neighboring district.
The district’s Board of Education officially accepted Garback’s resignation during its July 3 reorganization meeting. Her final day in Auburn was July 11.
Garback has joined Homer Central School District as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, following her appointment by Homer’s Board of Education on June 10. She had served in Auburn since January, after previously working in various roles, including Director of Early Learning and principal of Casey Park and Herman Avenue elementary schools.
The Auburn Citizen reports that in response to Garback’s departure, former Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Amy Mahunik has been promoted to Deputy Superintendent of Personnel.
