The Auburn Enlarged City School District’s annual job fair returns to Auburn High School on Thursday.
Attendees can learn about a variety of career opportunities within the district, including regular and substitute teaching positions, aides, bus drivers, and security monitors.
“It’s a great opportunity for people to come in and ask questions, “Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo said on FLX Morning. “We’ll have a lot of people there from a lot of different departments, including civil service, so we’re excited to continue that tradition.”
Pirozzolo added that the job fairs help the district fill positions, preventing or alleviating potential shortages.
“When we had our bus driver shortage, it really had an impact,” he continued. “We actually hired a couple of bus drivers and we were also low on custodians so we got a lot of people through the door.”
Applications will also be available with staff present to assist in resume creation. The district will also have a certification table to provide information on the process of becoming a teacher or administrator and career pathways.
The job fair will run from 5:00-7:00p on Thursday at the high school.
The district will also hold a virtual job fair on Wednesday, May 8 from 3:30-5:30p. Registration for that event can be done here.
