Parents and guardians are invited to the Auburn School District’s first-ever Parent/Guardian University next month.
Taking place from 9:00-11:00a on January 13, attendees will be able to learn about content, ask questions, and leave with resources to help their children. Breakout sessions will include Literacy K-12, Math K-12, Social Emotional Well-Being, Special Education, and Media Misinformation.
The district is excited to host its first Parent/Guardian University,” said Dr Renee Burgess, the event organizer and the district’s executive director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Instruction. “We hope to bring in parents and guardians to learn about various topics and equip them with resources to help their children at home. This event will be an excellent way for families to engage, ask questions, and learn more about the curriculum and community-wide resources available.”
Vendors will also be on hand, including the Boys Scouts, Booker T Washington Center, SNAP, the Auburn Fire Department, and Seymour Library. Those who attend will be entered into a raffle for prizes including four tickets to an SU men’s basketball game.
While the event isn’t until January, those looking to attend are encouraged to RSVP by December 20. That can be done by calling Dr Burgess at 315-255-8859 or emailing [email protected].
