By this time next year, one local police department hopes to be fully trained in evidence-based style policing by the state’s Division of Criminal Justice Services. Auburn Police Chief Matthew Androsko said this style deals will following the numbers or analytics.

Androsko said this style has been done within the department for years but without classifying it as analytics. He added the department already uses evidence-based policing with a few of its grants that deal with domestic violence and violent crimes.
