The union representing the City of Auburn’s Police Captains will not endorse any candidates in the 2026 election cycle.
The Auburn Police Command Unit – Local 195CU announced that, “after a thorough and comprehensive review process, the Executive Board of the Auburn Police Command Unit has made the decision to abstain from endorsing any candidate in the upcoming 2026 election cycle.”
The union added that the decision reflects its principle of impartiality and dedication to serving the community regardless of political affiliation or ideology. By abstaining from making endorsements, it believes its members can continue to serve without the perception of political bias.
The Auburn Police Command Unit still encourages all its members and the general public to vote in November.
