An Auburn nursing facility has been cited by the state after a video of a nurse allegedly falling asleep while standing went viral in March.
Auburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has received two citations for failing to ensure 37 of the facility’s 89 residents were free from neglect.
According to a state health department report, an unnamed nurse was accused multiple times of appearing drowsy, showing up late, and being suspected of being under the influence while on the job.
Despite being advised not to work past the 3:00-11:00p shift to combat fatigue and ensure she’d be on time for shifts, the nurse is noted to have worked double shifts and night shifts.
The nurse has previously blamed migraine medication as the cause of her drowsiness
