Auburn Man Pleads Guilty to Felonies on Eve of Trial

SHARE NOW

On the eve of his trial that was sent to begin this month in Cayuga County Court, an Auburn man pleaded guilty to two felony counts of aggravated family offenses stemming from two separate domestic violence incidents.

According to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, the initial investigation revealed that Charles Williams damaged property at his ex-girlfriend’s house by using a crowbar to enter her home and damaging the doorframe in the process. The 48-year-old was sent to Cayuga County Jail as a result of that arrest.

A subsequent investigation uncovered that Williams violated an order of protection when he contacted the protected party while housed at the county jail in violation of a court order.

Williams is scheduled for sentencing on April 29 to an indeterminate term of three to six years in prison.
