Auburn Man Pleads Guilty to Burglary, Attempted Rape, other Felonies

On the eve of his trial date, an Auburn man has admitted to sexually assaulting a woman during a burglary.

According to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, 37-year-old Brandon Lowe pled guilty to five felonies and two misdemeanors before his trial was set to begin on Monday. He pled guilty on Friday to felony counts of Burglary, Attempted Rape, Sexual Abuse, and two counts of Criminal Contempt, as well as misdemeanor counts of Criminal Contempt and Criminal Trespass. He also pled guilty to Harassment, a violation.

He admitted to threatening the victim for days before sexually assaulting her at her home before police arrived, all in violation of an order of protection. The DA’s Office says it will recommend a ten-year determinate sentence, followed by ten years of post-release supervision at the time of sentencing.

Lowe faces an eight-year determinate prison sentence followed by nine years post-release supervision when sentenced in January.
