The City of Auburn is getting nearly four million dollars for improvements to its water infrastructure.

Governor Hochul announced Thursday that the Environmental Facilities Corporation Board of Directors has approved over 100 million dollars for water infrastructure improvement projects across New York State.

“New York State continues to provide unprecedented financial support to help communities upgrade water systems and improve water quality,” Governor Hochul said. “Providing funding and resources to help local governments get shovels in the ground for water infrastructure improvement projects is a top priority, and we’ll continue working together to modernize our infrastructure and provide safe, reliable water systems for generations to come.”

In Auburn, the $3,720,000 grant will go to the rehabilitation of the Slow Sand Filtration Plant and Rapid Sand Filtration Plant. The work includes structural, mechanical, and electrical improvements.
