Auburn City Engineer Recognized for Decades of Service

A 57-year veteran of Auburn’s Engineering Department has been honored for his decades of service.

At Thursday’s City Council meeting, Mayor Mike Quill presented Bill Lupien with a key to the city. Speaking to Council, Lupien said it’s been an honor to serve the city.

“I’ve been very fortunate,” Lupien said. “I’m one of these people that love their work, love the people they work with, and so it’s been a pleasure serving the people of the City of Auburn and working with all the fine people that I’ve worked with. And I want to say thank you. It’s been truly an honor working for the City of Auburn.”

Speaking on FLX Morning, City Clerk Chuck Mason said Lupien’s been an invaluable member of city staff.

“[I]can’t say enough about all the things that Billy’s been involved with. He’s kind of a fixture in the city hall building,” Mason said.

Lupien’s final day on the job was Friday
