Over the next six weeks, department heads in the City of Auburn will present their budget proposals to City Council. Speaking on FLX Morning, City Clerk Chuck Mason said the first two departments scheduled to present are the city’s Police and Fire Departments with APD Chief Jim Slayton giving his budget proposal at Thursday’s city council meeting.

“Jim Slayton, our police chief, will be on hand to overview with council the police department budget, and then the last week of the month here, March 28, will see our fire department chief, Mark Fritz, on hand. He’ll be presenting his Auburn Fire Department Budget.,” said Mason.

City Manager Jeff Dygert will provide a first draft of his budget on April 4.
