If you live in Cayuga County, you can declutter your house this weekend.
Auburn residents can participate in the city’s second Fall Clean-Up Day on Saturday. Garbage, yard waste, electronics, and more can be dropped off at the city’s transfer station from 7:00-11:30a at no cost. Freon-containing units such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers will be accepted for a $45 fee.
The event is open to city residents only. A driver’s license and vehicle registration must be presented to prove residency.
Materials That Will Be Accepted
- Garbage, Recycling, Mattresses/box springs, Brush/Yard Waste, and Furniture.
- Yard waste/brush must be dumped out of plastic bags (plastic bags are no longer acceptable for this material).
- Computer Parts, Microwaves, DVDs, VCRs, Printers, TVs, Cell Phones, Mobile Devices, Fluorescent Lamps
- Car tires (accepting 4 tires per residence).
Materials That WILL NOT Be Accepted:
- Hazardous Waste
- Asbestos
- Motor oil
- Liquid waste
- Grease
- Solvents
- Paint
- Cooking oil
Cayuga County will hold electronics recycling events on Saturday in Auburn, Cato, and Venice. From 8:30a-12:30p, residents can drop off electronics waste at the following locations: 1879 W Genesee Street Rd, Auburn, 2601 Ira Hill Rd, Cato, and 2942 Long Hill Rd Venice Center
