Five Cayuga County felony convictions have been upheld on appeal.
The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday that the Appellate Division upheld the office’s convictions in five felony cases. Those cases include:
Philip Bradley was involved in the May 11, 2019 inmate riot in Auburn Correctional Facility’s South Lawn. Several Correction Officers were injured during the event.
Bradley was found guilty of Riot on May 10, 2021, and sentenced to 2-4 years additional prison time along with a $2,000 fine on July 4 of the same year.

Julian Byer pled guilty to Robbery on March 2, 2022. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years post-release supervision on May 19 for his role in the robbery of an Auburn man at gunpoint on July 4, 2021.

On July 18, 2002, Vincent DeAngelis pled guilty to Burglary, Robbery, Assault, and Criminal Possession of a Deadly Weapon, receiving a seven-year prison sentence followed by five years post-release supervision.
On January 12, 2020, DeAngelis charged into an Auburn apartment and attacked the tenant with an 18″ machete while an accomplice stole a TV.

Karl Diggs was found guilty of Robbery and Criminal Possession of a Weapon on May 31, 2022. On October 6, 2022, he was sentenced to 15 years to life on each count to run concurrently.
On December 11, 2021, Diggs threatened two employees at the Auburn Walmart with a knife while stealing merchandise from the store. He had previously been convicted of four felonies and 51 misdemeanors.

Derrick Sedore was found guilty of several felony charges including burglary, kidnapping, and robbery on October 26, 2018, and sentenced to 20 years to life on April 25, 2019.
On February 28, 2018, Sedore and Caleb Pilkenton invaded the home of a 68-year-old in the Town of Sterling. During the robbery, Sedore struck the victim in the head with the but of a rifle, causing injury.
Pilkenton testified against Sedore and received a 12-year prison sentence which he has yet to appeal.
