You can now help ensure area youth are fed this summer.
The Auburn Police Department and Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office are once again teaming up with Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Programs (CAP) for their annual Cereal for Summer collection drive.
Now through June first, you can drop off cereal, oatmeal, granola, and breakfast bars at the police station (46 North St, Auburn) and the sheriff’s office (7445 County House Rd, Auburn) to help keep children well nourished during the months they can’t get free school meals. Donations can also be dropped off at CAP offices – 89 York St, Auburn, and 25 Center St, Waterloo.
Monetary donations can be made here. For more information on the program, contact CAP at 315-255-1703 or [email protected].
According to CAP, over 7,000 area children rely on school meals.
