As Auburn continues to prepare its 2025-26 city budget, Council will get a look at the proposed budgets for the police and fire departments and ambulance service on Thursday.

Police Chief Matthew Androsko will present the police budget; Fire Chief Mark Fritz will present his department’s budget, and the ambulance budget will be presented by Fritz and Director of Operations Kezia Sullivan at Thursday’s city council meeting.

At last week’s meeting, Council received an overall preliminary budget presentation from City Manager Jeff Dygert and City Comptroller Mary Beth Leeson. This was followed by the department budgets for the Public Works and Engineering Departments, and the Office of Planning and Economic Development and Code Enforcement.

While the city’s budget remains in flux pending the passage of the state budget, something that was supposed to be done by April 1, local officials have joined those from across the state in calling for an increase in Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding.
