26th Annual Finger Lakes Youth Fishing Derby Set for May

SHARE NOW

The Finger Lakes National Forest has announced the return of the Youth Fishing Derby. The Derby will be held on May 4th from 08:00 AM – 10:30 AM at the Potomac Pond, located on Potomac Road in Hector. This will mark the 26th time the Fishing Derby has been held in the National Forest and forest staff are excited to host young anglers once again.

Prizes will be awarded, and food will be available. Please join us for this fun event.

Youth ages 2-12 are eligible to participate. Preregistration is required again this year with registration being limited to the first 100 kids. This registration limit is in place to allow all those participating to have a safe and enjoyable time, and to help in event planning, ensuring there will be enough food and beverages for the celebration.

The deadline for registering is May 1st. Contact the Hector Ranger District Office at (607) 546-4470 to register or for more information.

The Finger Lakes National Forest would like to give a special thanks to all the past donors whose generosity has enabled us to celebrate the past 25 years. This event would not be possible without them, the continued support of the local community, and the many volunteers. If you are interested in helping, in any capacity, please contact Dylan Welch at (607) 546-4470 ext. 3310.
