“Stretch Your Own Canvas” with Colette Chermak

Learn how to hand-stretch your own canvas! Join Colette Chermak, Sunny Point Artist in Residence, for an in-depth discussion around what it means to ‘stretch’ canvas and the value in developing this skill, followed by a make-and-take style demonstration. All materials are provided. Each attendee will receive a 5×7 inch wooden frame to practice on, along with a piece of raw canvas. Staple guns and staples are also provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own fiber-based scraps to experiment with. If you have a staple gun and want to share with the group, please bring that too!
