This class series will meet in person at the Schuyler County Human Services Complex, Conference Room 115, 323 Owego Street, Montour Falls, NY 14865, Wednesdays April 8 – May 13 from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Dates: April 8, 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a 6-week educational program that focuses on the needs of family caregivers of individuals with chronic conditions. Family caregivers develop a variety of self-care tools to:
• Reduce personal stress
• Change negative self-talk
• Communicate their needs to family members and healthcare providers
• Communicate more effectively in challenging situations
• Deal with difficult feelings
• Make tough caregiving decisions
Class participants also receive a copy of The Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workbook, developed specifically for the class. This is a free class for family caregivers of someone with a chronic illness and/or dementia.
