CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health will host a program called “Living with Parkinson’s Disease and the Importance of Its Physical Management” on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Ferris Hills at West Lake.
Held in the Canandaigua independent living community’s Rayburn Hall, the program will feature a neurologist from the University of Rochester Medical Center named Dr. Nami Ranjit Shah, as well as Thompson Health physical therapists Dudley Hallstead and Benjamine Van Heck.
The objectives of the program are for attendees to:
• Be able to identify common symptoms of and risk factors for Parkinson’s.
• Learn about the principles of the LSVT BIG program.
• Be able to understand the importance of exercise in the treatment of Parkinson’s.
An affiliate of Thompson, Ferris Hills at West Lake is located on Peg Rayburn Drive, with the campus accessed via either West Lake Road (County Road 16) or Middle Cheshire Road.
There is no need to RSVP for the Nov. 19 presentation.
