FLBM Adds Summer dates for 2025 Boating Safety Certification Classes

 

All boat operators will be required to have a NYS boating safety certificate this year

 

FINGER LAKES, May 2025 – Finger Lakes Boating Museum in Hammondsport will continue to help make earning the required New York State safe boating certificate easy to do in 2025. The Museum will offer the one-day course each month through August, adding three more opportunities for boaters to learn how to stay safe on the water. This popular program, taught by a certified New York State instructor, prepares participants to earn a certificate that is valid for life.

 

The FLBM New York State Safe Boating course takes place at Finger Lakes Boating Museum located at 8231 Pleasant Valley Road in Hammondsport. In addition to the nearly sold-out May 17, 2025, session, FLBM is offering the following dates:

 

Sunday, June 15

Saturday, July 12

Sunday, August 3

 

Pre-registration is required. Participants must register with both Finger Lakes Boating Museum and NYS Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. The Finger Lakes Boating Museum was founded in 1997 to preserve, promote, and celebrate Finger Lakes boating heritage. Since 2014, the Museum has been located on Pleasant Valley Road in Hammondsport, NY, on the former Taylor Wine Company campus. The Museum is open daily year-round and has the largest collection of Finger Lakes area produced boats on display in the world and one of the largest off-water, year-round exhibitions of historical boats in the country.
