The Cayuga County office for the Aging has staff who are state certified and specialize in Medicare counseling. We are not here to sell you a new plan. We are here to educate you on the Medicare coverage, process, and options everyone has. Navigating insurance is different for everyone and we are here to help figure out what plans are available in our county, what services and coverage the plans offer. We can look ahead at what you may pay for services and your prescriptions throughout the year. We are not sales reps; we do not make a commission on this process. If you have questions about your current or future Medicare insurance needs, we are here Monday through Friday to take your calls. If you are new to Medicare, we encourage you to attend one of our free 2-hour Medicare 101 classes where we will go over what Medicare insurance covers, how to enroll and give you a better understanding of all the plan options and the mail you are getting from various companies and more. Classes are in person at the Boyle Center- 149 Genesee St. 2nd Floor Computer Room, Auburn NY 13021. The upcoming classes are on April 1st from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, May 6th from 11:00am to 1:00pm, and June 11th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Registration is required.
Can’t afford your medications? There are programs in Cayuga county that could assist with lowering prescription prices, helping with premiums and co pays. Our staff can screen and assist with applying for these programs if you are eligible.
