Members of the public are invited to the Ferris Hills at West Lake retirement community in Canandaigua this Friday, January 10, at 3 p.m. as it hosts Mary Rosenberger, author of the recently released “Freedom Village: A Memoir.”
Rosenberger was born and raised at Freedom Village, leaving at the age of 24. Located on the western shore of Seneca Lake, the campus was billed as “North America’s Premier Christian Campus for Troubled Teens” but became embroiled in allegations of fiscal mismanagement and even abuse, with the controversial founder creating an environment some have described as a cult.
Copies of the Payette Publishing hardcover book are available online and will also be available for purchase Friday after Rosenberger’s talk at Ferris Hills, for $30 each.
