The final program in the Historic Geneva Fall 2024 Program Series will be “A Short History of Geneva Cemeteries” presented by Historic Geneva staff Becky Chapin, Anne Dealy, and John Marks. The program will be held on Wednesday, November 13 at 5 p.m. at the Geneva Public Library and is free and open to the public.
The presentation will focus primarily on the history of Pulteney Street, Washington Street, Glenwood and St. Patrick’s Cemeteries. Learn about the early history of Geneva’s burial grounds and how they changed and expanded over the community’s history.
Historic Geneva’s fall programming is focused on the theme of death and mourning in conjunction with the 2024 Rose Hill exhibit “The Good Death: Illness and Death in the 19th Century.”
Historic Geneva programming is supported in part by the ESL Charitable Foundation and Samuel B. Williams Fund for Programs in the Humanities and is free and open to the public. For more information about the program, call the Historic Geneva office at 315-789-5151 or visit historicgeneva.org.
