The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce held its June Business After Hours Networking Mixer at The National Women’s Hall of Fame. Located at 1 Canal St. in Seneca Falls, the historic site is the nation’s first and oldest nonprofit organization and museum dedicated to honoring and celebrating the achievements of distinguished American women. After holding its headquarters on Fall Street for several years in downtown Seneca Falls, the National Women’s Hall of Fame relocated in August of 2020 into the historic 1844 Seneca Knitting Mill, with a scenic view along the Seneca Cayuga Canal.
During the Chamber’s Mixer, guests enjoyed refreshments, presentations and were able to participate in a question-and-answer session with the Hall of Fame staff where they learned more about the history of the building and their future plans. The Chamber event took place on the first of four levels, which has been modernized, yet still features the original wooden flooring. The museum is in the process of renovating the upstairs, which will soon be accessible once the current
elevator project is complete. Museum board members stated that so far, the entire project has been underway since 2007 and cost upwards of ten million dollars. Today, this historical site uses the stories of 293 inductees to inspire and engage all who visit. The museum will be holding its 50th induction ceremony on Saturday, September 30 at the Smith Opera House in Geneva.
The next Business After Hours Networking Mixer will be held on Wednesday, July, 12 from 5-7 PM at The Eye Care Center in Geneva. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for non-members and is included for all 2023 BAH Season Pass holders. Reservations are required one week in advance. Please contact the Chamber via email at [email protected] for more information.
