Weedsport’s Girls JV Field Hockey Team has been awarded the 2023 Sportsmanship Award for Section 3 athletics.
“We are very proud of our girls,” said Weedsport Central School District Athletic Director Robert Piascik in a press release. “Sportsmanship is pivotal to maintaining a positive culture in our athletic program, and those characteristics also resonate in school and throughout our community. It’s very exciting and humbling for our student-athletes to be recognized with this award.”
Based on nominations and voting by field hockey officials, the New York State Field Hockey Board of Officials gives the award to those dedicated to fair play and outstanding sportsmanship.
