The Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association (Pure Waters) is excited to announce the 2024 Seneca Lake Water Quality Symposium, a crucial event focused on lake health and water quality. Taking place on August 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the 41 Lakefront Hotel in Geneva, NY, this free symposium is open to the public and aims to foster an informed discussion on the latest research and initiatives impacting Seneca Lake.
The symposium will feature presentations from esteemed regional experts who will share insights into ongoing quality research and actions being taken to project the lake. Speakers include:
- Grascen Shidemantle, Ph.D., Executive Director, Community Science Institute, providing a summary of 10 Years of Water Quality monitoring data from Seneca Lake Tributaries.
- Lewis McCaffrey Ph.D. PG, Finger Lakes Watershed Hub, Division of Water, NYSDEC, speaking about Historic and Contemporary Water Quality in the Finger Lakes with a focus on Seneca Lake.
- Tom & Patricia Manley, Emeritus Research Faculty, Middlebury College, sharing their exciting new bathymetric discoveries from their 2018-2024 Seneca Lake Bathymetric and Archaeological Survey.
