Seneca County Celebrates Fair Housing Month

The Seneca County Housing Coalition and Seneca County are hosting the 2nd Annual Housing and Services Fair on Wednesday, April 26, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Seneca Falls Community Center, located at 35 Water St. in Seneca Falls.

The Housing & Services Fair will feature more than 40 local agencies in-person and available for questions and offering guidance on housing and other related services accessible to residents of Seneca County. Refreshments will be provided while supplies last including breakfast pizza, lunch pizza, and coffee. There will also be drawings every hour for grocery gift cards and a flat screen tv grand prize open to attendees that visit every booth.

This event is free and open to the public sponsored by Seneca Housing, Inc., Seneca County Planning and Community Development, CFCU Community Federal Credit Union, NextEra Energy and Generations Bank.

Housing service providers that will be on-hand at the event available for questions include Legal Assistance of WNY, Habitat for Humanity of Seneca County, Home Headquarters, Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes, USDA Rural Development, Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes, and many more.

The Seneca County Housing and Services Fair was first held in 2019 and has been revived this year as an annual event in celebration of Fair Housing Month. The Seneca County Board of Supervisors proclaimed April 2023 to be Fair Housing Month in celebration of the 55th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act of 1968.

The Seneca County Board of Supervisors is committed to highlighting the Fair Housing Act by continuing to address discrimination in our community, to support programs that will educate the public about the right to equal housing opportunities, and to plan partnership efforts with other organizations to help ensure every American the right to fair housing.
