The Ontario County Chamber of Commerce announces the 40th Annual ATHENA Leadership Awards Dinner, set for Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Finger Lakes Community College.
First hosted in Canandaigua in 1985, the ATHENA Leadership Awards have grown to become one of Ontario County’s most celebrated awards programs. The ATHENA Awards honor individuals whose leadership uplifts both their professions and their communities, while actively assisting women in realizing their leadership potential.
“The 40th anniversary of the Ontario County ATHENA Leadership Awards is a testament to our community’s commitment to honoring and celebrating exemplary leadership, authentic relationships, and meaningful collaboration,” said Tracey Fuller, ATHENA Steering Committee chair and 2011 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award recipient. “Leaders of the past, present, and future have given selflessly to create a thriving community we are fortunate to call home.”
Nominations are now open for two prestigious awards:
- ATHENA Leadership Award
- ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award (for nominees age 45 and younger)
Nominees must demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their profession; provide valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in their community; and actively assist women in achieving their full leadership potential.
Nominations must be submitted by Friday, July 25, 2025.
After submitting a nomination, a member of the Chamber team will reach out to congratulate the nominee, who will then complete an official nomination form. The ATHENA Steering Committee will review all submissions and announce finalists on August 1, 2025.

The November 13 event will feature networking, a formal awards program, and a special celebration of past ATHENA honorees. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit college scholarships for local women, continuing the ATHENA tradition of empowering future leaders.
Fuller added, “This special occasion would not have been possible if Randy and Margaret Farnsworth had not introduced ATHENA to our area four decades ago. The awards program remains a signature event for Ontario County, and one you won’t want to miss!”
Sponsorship opportunities for this milestone 40th anniversary event are also available.
