The Newark Police Department would like to announce their newest officer to join the Newark PD team, Eric Minisce. Officer Minisce brings with him many years of experience in policing. He first became a police officer in June 2006 after graduating from the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy. After the academy he worked for the Lyons Police Department until they were dissolved in 2015 and then worked part-time in Clyde for many years. For the past year he has been working full-time with the Wolcott Police Department. He says it is that small town policing that he enjoys as he likes getting to know the people where he works and why he is excited to be able to serve the Village of Newark.

Officer Minisce is described by those who know him as determined, genuine, trustworthy, and family-oriented as he loves spending time with his two children including coaching their youth baseball team. He also enjoys golfing.

So, if you see Officer Minisce out, please welcome him to the NPD.

Mayor Jonathan Taylor stated, “Adding a seasoned veteran like Eric to our team in the Police Department will help further our community policing goals. His past experience with other departments will be invaluable as we grow our department in the coming year.”

Police Commissioner Stu Blodgett stated, “I am pleased to have Eric joining the Newark PD. His diverse background with other police agencies in Wayne County is a plus, for both him and our department. I wish him a long and successful career as a member of the Newark PD. “
