The Village of Newark is pleased to announce that Breiten Balschmiter has re-joined the Village’s Department of Public Works as a Heavy Equipment Operator.  Breiten first worked for the Village from 2011 – 2013 in the DPW before leaving to join the United States Army. In the Army, Breiten worked as a field artillery specialist and was stationed at Fort Drum near Watertown, New York and Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. After returning from the military, he worked in facilities maintenance and as a truck driver before coming back to the DPW here in the Village. Breiten maintains a Class A commercial driver’s license which will come in handy during his time here.  Breiten lives in the Town of Arcadia with his wife of nearly 6 years, Abigail and their son Abram.

Mayor Jonathan Taylor stated, “Breiten is a hard worker and we are pleased that he has chosen to return to the DPW. His wide range of experience will be an asset to the Village.”
