The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce held its November Business After Hours Networking Mixer at the Geneva Sons and Daughters of Italy, on November 8th. The event was held at Geneva Lodge 2397 located at 31 Prospect Ave. Founded in 1977 and then merging with a co-ed lodge in 2016, the Geneva Sons and Daughters of Italy in America have their headquarters at the former Prospect Ave School that operated from 192 until 1981. The historic school has since been renovated and today serves many purposes for the club’s needs.
During the Mixer, guests enjoyed a variety of hors d’oeuvres and refreshments provided by the club’s caterer and cook, Peter Gillotte. Tours were given of the renovated spaces where guests also learned about the history of the building, club, and ongoing popular programs including Bingo, special events, and seasonal/ holiday fundraisers. Many do not realize that the space can accommodate catering and large parties or dinners indoors for up to 200 guests and that there is also an outdoor space for gatherings, small festivals and a pavilion that can be rented out. There are also indoor and outdoor bocce ball courts.
The next and final Business After Hours Mixer for 2023 will be held on Wednesday, December 13 at the Smith Center for the Arts. The event will take place from 5-7 pm and will also feature the unveiling of the Chamber’s new logo and regional rebranding. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for non-members and is included for all 2023 BAH Season Pass holders. Please note that advance or at-the-door payment is required.
