The Finger Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce held a Member Milestone Celebration open house to highlight the relocation of Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association. The event was held at the organization’s new office space at 20 E. Castle Street in downtown Geneva. Formerly located in an office on Exchange Street, the new location will offer a larger space to welcome the group’s supporters and the public in to visit during office hours.
During the event Board members and staff were on hand to interact with guests and provide information and insight into the group’s mission and current projects. Following a presentation, group photo, and light refreshments, the group also offered a walking trip to the nearby lakefront to showcase a recently completed informational kiosk that has been constructed.
Since 1990, Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association has been committed to preserving, protecting, and promoting Seneca Lake. Today, operating as a 501c3, SLPWA has grown its operations, with a board, staff, and several volunteers working in conjunction to study data, while monitoring the water quality of Seneca Lake and its tributaries. The group currently has two major events that are in the works and for which they are seeking support. Their Seneca Lake Summer Soiree is July 23, and Pure Brew Week will be taking place July 24 – August 3. Details can be found on their website: www.senecalake.org.
