Orthopaedic spine surgeon Alexander Akoto, MD has recently joined the medical staff of Geneva General Hospital. He will be seeing patients at Interlakes Orthopaedic Surgery, located at 789 Pre-Emption Road in Geneva and at 430 Clifton Springs Professional Park in Clifton Springs.
Dr. Akoto is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon with the UR Medicine Department of Orthopaedics and Physical Performance and is board-eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
He performs a broad spectrum of diverse and complex orthopedic spinal surgical procedures including laminectomy, discectomy, fusion, motion-sparing surgery, and deformity correction throughout the entire spine.
Dr. Akoto joined UR Medicine after completing his Louis A. Goldstein Spine Surgery Fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, MI. He earned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC.
