Auburn Community Hospital management and 1199 SEIU, United Healthcare Workers East, the union that represents nurses employed at the Hospital and Finger Lakes Center for Living, have announced that they have reached a new three-year labor agreement following a ratification vote by the nurses on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

The three-year agreement provides for significant wage increases to adjust to market conditions.
The parties expect that the wage adjustments will help attract and recruit nurses at the 99-bed hospital. “Auburn Community Hospital prides itself on its history of union collaboration. We also recognize that the process of reaching an agreement during a contract negotiation is not always an easy one. We have enormous respect for our nurses because of their unwavering dedication and commitment to our patients and our community,” stated Scott Berlucchi, President, and CEO of Auburn Community Hospital.

“The RNs and LPNs at Auburn Community Hospital worked diligently in conjunction with management
to come to an agreement that would reflect the loyalty and dedication we all have for quality and safe patient care for the auburn community, “stated Brittany Alnutt, RN, and member of the negotiating committee.

The contract between Auburn Community Hospital and 1199SEIU covers approximately 233

employees. The hospital, Auburn’s largest private employer, has approximately 1200 employees.
