Cannabis dispensaries in Auburn could see changes to their operating hours.
The proposed ordinance would amend the city code, changing the permitted operating hours for state-licensed cannabis consumption establishments and retail dispensaries from 8:00a-8:00p to 9:00a-10:00p, putting them in line with liquor stores in the city.
The proposed changes came after discussion among city councilors at recent council meetings. Dispensaries argue that allowing them to remain open later would lead to increased sales.
Two state-licensed dispensaries currently operate in the city – Wild Flower and FlynnStoned.
A public hearing on the proposed amendment is scheduled for April 7 during the City of Auburn Planning Board’s regular meeting. The meeting will take place at 6:30p in Council Chambers at Memorial City Hall.
A copy of the proposed ordinance can be found on the city’s website or at the City Clerk’s Office.
