The Appellate Division has upheld the conviction of Taj Williams, who pled guilty to second-degree assault for attacking a correction officer at Auburn Correctional Facility.
Williams admitted to assaulting the officer on March 14, 2024. He was sentenced by Cayuga County Court in December 2024 to five years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision. By law, the sentence is being served consecutively to his original prison term.
The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office handled the appeal.
