On Sunday, Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two Fairport residents following a shoplifting investigation at the Von Maur department store.
Deputies arrested Nicholas Scalzo and Kristina Koester, both 34. It is alleged that on Sunday, Scalzo and Koester were observed concealing several items of merchandise inside a fabric shopping bag.
According to reports, the pair passed all points of sale without rendering payment for the items, which were valued at $170.00.
Both Scalzo and Koester were charged with Petit Larceny. They were transported to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office substation for processing and subsequently released with appearance tickets. Both defendants are scheduled to answer the charges in Victor Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
