On Saturday, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Ontario woman on an active arrest warrant originating from the Town of Geneva Court.
Jenna Vandemortel, 34, was taken into custody without incident. The warrant follows an investigation into an incident at the Geneva Walmart that allegedly occurred on March 9.
Vandemortel was charged with Burglary in the Third Degree and Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree. Following her arrest, she was transported to the Ontario County Jail for centralized arraignment.
Vandemortel was released with post-release supervision and is scheduled to appear in the Geneva Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
